Post Larval Shrimp
Also referred to as "PLs" by farmers. PLs look like adult shrimp. They have completed 3 stages of larval development after the eggs hatched into nauplii (larval stage 1). PLs feed on baby brine shrimps and zooplanktons. Their growth stages are numbered as PL-1, PL-2, and so forth. It takes an average of 25 days to produce PL-15. Once the PLs reach about 1cm long, they are transferred into juvenile ponds to be grown out.
